I am turning 30 this year, and I am truly looking forward to it. As my thirtieth birthday approaches, I can’t help but reflect on the last decade of my life. I have gone through some pretty tough times, experienced loss, and felt heartbreak. I also think about all the amazing things that have truly changed me. I graduated college, got engaged, got married, bought a home, and had my first child. That adds up to a very successful ten years and I want to make sure the next ten are, too, so I made my 30s bucket list.
When I pictured my life at thirty, I thought I would have two kids by now and have a thriving career. I can help but feel a little anxious about not being “exactly where I thought I would be.” Those thoughts are quickly pushed aside when I think about how much I have accomplished and how far I have come. My goals and aspirations have definitely shifted over the years, for the better and the way I measure success has changed. I am much more confident and comfortable in my own skin then I was ten years ago. I learned not to settle for less than I deserve, that having a few close friends is more important than a bunch of acquaintances, and I can do anything I put my mind to. I am sure my 30s will bring lots of newfound wisdom and unforgettable experiences. As I enjoy the rest of my time as a twenty-nine-year-old, I wanted to share what I am looking forward to in my thirties. Check out all the items on my 30s bucket list!
