Heather married her best friend seven years ago, and has lived something of a nomadic lifestyle ever since. Schooling, family, disaster relief work, and a sense of adventure have moved them thirteen times in 7 years, but Heather has always considered Milwaukee home. With four kids under the age of 4 (including twin girls born on Christmas Day!), they decided it was time to plant roots. When she’s not chasing around her growing brood or sweeping up cheerios, Heather can be found experimenting with recipes, failing at the Pinterest life, or finding new outlets for her singing and theatrical passions.Jackie lives in Jackson, Wisconsin, with her husband, Jack, and their four kids: Ethan, Lauren, Maeve, and Clare. (Yep, it's really Jack and Jackie in Jackson!) In the last decade, Jackie has worn several “mom hats”: single mom, only parent (after being widowed in 2012), working mom, SAHM, work-at-home mom, sick mom (after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2014), and stepmom. Jackie is addicted to social media, caffeine, pop culture, and vacuum cleaners. She loves trying new recipes, organizing with cute containers and her trusty label maker, and getting lost in the weirdness of the Internet. She has written an anonymous personal blog on-and-off since her son was born and considers writing a form of therapy. When she’s not doing laundry or chauffeuring kiddos, she teaches advertising and public relations at UW-Milwaukee.Kate is a former high school teacher and the stay-at-home mom of Bug (2013), Ladybug (2015), and Honeybee (2018). She first came to Milwaukee in 2005 to attend Marquette University, where she met her college sweetheart Luke. One of her favorite parts about Milwaukee is how easy it is for her to expose her children to learning experiences. Outside of parenting, she spends her time watching HGTV, cooking, and volunteering with the Junior League of Milwaukee. Kate muses about parenting and life with a mental illness at www.mommyhasocd.com.Born, raised and raising in Milwaukee, Mandy is a full-time working mom that runs on faith, Diet Coke and to-do lists - not necessarily in that order. She and her Jersey boy of 14 years, Blake, are parents to the handsomest of handfuls (Cristian, 11). Armed with her Sicilian mother's sarcasm and Mexican father's temper, her Type A(-) personality is always trying to make the pieces of her puzzle fit. Always in need a margarita and a nap, Mandy is constantly trying to figure out how to make the two happen simultaneously. She is passionate about body positivity and special needs. Mandy hand-stamps jewelry to appease her crafty side, release aggression and raise money for charity. Mandy is beyond thankful to have found a community where she can share her insight, creativity and fierceness with other like-minded women on the same journey through motherhood.Marnia is a born and raised Minnesota girl who came to the Milwaukee area for college and never looked back. She lives in Waukesha with her husband and 4 kids. Marnia has a passion for connecting families together, a creative imagination, a heart for reaching out to others, and a contagious enthusiasm, which is why event planning is something she adores. She loves anything outdoors, adventurous and dangerous or competitive. You will often find her rock climbing, biking, hiking with a child in each hand and often one on her back! Marnia takes the lead on the large family events for MKE Moms Blog.Melissa is a Waukesha native and is raising her boys in the same neighborhood she grew up in. Five years ago you could have described her as a happily married mom to four boys (including triplets!). Today, she’s a single, full-time working mama to three boys and an angel. Mel lives on coffee and Diet Dew. Melissa coordinates many of the incredible resources here at MKE Moms Blog, from Birthday Parties to Summer Camps and everything in between!Sarah is a full-time working mom who is addicted to trying to always add “one more thing.” She grew up in Waupun, WI (don’t worry, not INSIDE the prison) before attending college at UW-Madison and becoming an English teacher. She is a mom of three sons and has been married for 14 years to her husband, Evan. Sarah is passionate about encouraging women, building community and helping women discover their influence. She loves writing, laughing till it hurts, and learning new ways to enjoy all Wisconsin has to offer. Her love languages are sarcasm and craft beer.
