We are here with the Insider Scoop on ways to save big at the Wisconsin State Fair! Use these tips and tricks to maximize your enjoyment while minimizing your expenses.

When it comes to Deals & Steals, it basically boils down to these categories:

Admission Deals

Children five and under get into the Fair for FREE. Youth ages 6 to 11 pay $12 a ticket and general admission tickets are $17.

There are some great ways to save on admission – if you buy in advance you can get general admission tickets for just $13 admission tickets until 7/29!

Monarch Library System Summer Reading Programs

Kids can earn a FREE youth admission ticket when they participate in the summer reading program at select Dodge, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, or Washington County libraries. This program ends August 14.

Milwaukee County Libraries Summer Reading Program

Keep kids reading this summer and earn a FREE youth admission ticket upon completion of the Summer Reading Program at any participating Milwaukee County Library. Teens can also earn FREE State Fair Admission for reading this summer. This program ends August 14.

Lakeshores Library System Summer Reading Programs

Kids can earn a FREE youth admission ticket upon completion of the summer reading program at any Racine or Walworth County Library. This program ends August 14.

Bridges Library System Summer Reading Programs

Kids can earn a FREE youth admission ticket when they participate in the Oceans of Possibilities Reading Program at select Waukesha or Jefferson County Public Libraries. This program ends August 14.

Dublin the Fun Fair & Fest Deal

Now – JULY 31 – Have twice the fair and festival fun for the price of one with the “Dublin the Fun” Fair & Fest Deal! FREE Family Fun

One of the best ways to save is to find all the fun, FREE entertainment and activities for fairgoers of all ages! Once you get onto the grounds, you can easily stay busy all day without spending a dime.

  • BMX PROS Trick Team: See the BMX PROS Trick Team pull off amazing choreographed stunts, both on the ground and in the air. The riders are sure to wow you as they touch the sky rocketing off the huge ramps! The show will take place four times daily at 12:00, 2:00, 4:00 & 7:00 pm on South Grandstand Avenue.
  • Exploratory Park on the south side of the Fair Park features a free playground area, which immediately had our attention. Outdoor enthusiasts can visit hands-on stations for kids of all ages to learn about fish and wildlife, as well as see Smokey’s School House.
  • Walking through the animal barns and marveling at the farmers’ hard work is one of the true joys of a day at the Wisconsin State Fair.  In addition to the individual animal barns, visit the Compeer Financial Discovery Barn to see baby animals and learn about Wisconsin’s agriculture industry.
  • Come cheer on your favorite pig at the pig races, a Fair classic! They race seven times daily at 11:00 am, 12:30, 1:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30 and 7:30 pm. on Second Street and Badger Avenue.
  • Dog lovers rejoice in the K-9 Sports Arena! If you’ve never seen dog dock diving, you are seriously missing out. The show also features frisbee, agility courses, and Police K-9 units.
  • For a steady lineup of family entertainment, head to the Wilderness Resort Family Variety Stage located on Wetley Way in the Big Backyard. This stage features jugglers, comics and more.
  • Bank Five Nine Amphitheater is the Fair’s largest free stages with tons of great acts. Whether its the dueling pianos, Kids from Wisconsin, or nationally-known musicians, the Bank Five Nine Amphitheater has something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.

As you can see, the Fair is a premier destination for quality, free entertainment!

Milwaukee Bucks Kids Day 

  • PRE-FAIR PROMO: Young Bucks fans, ages 5-12, can receive a free youth State Fair admission ticket after signing up for the Bango’s Kids Club, sponsored by BMO Harris Bank, in the month of July. Those tickets are valid on Tuesday, August 9 only from 10am-6pm.  
  • Milwaukee Bucks Kids Day will be at the fair on August 9, the Milwaukee Bucks are bringing the energy of Fiserv Forum to Central Park with a day of activities that will have you chanting “Bucks in Six!” Fans of all ages are welcome! Score a photo with the Larry O’Brien trophy, enjoy performances from the Bucks Entertainment Network featuring the Grand Dancers, score a high-five from Bango and the Wisconsin Herd’s mascot Pointer, take home a souvenir craft on-a-stick, put your NBA 2K skills to the test, and purchase some new gear from the mobile Bucks Pro Shop, too.

$35 SpinCity 50 Ride & Game Tickets

SpinCity draws kids in like a moth to the flame, and can also burn through your cash pretty quickly. Thrill-seekers can save 30% compared to individually purchased tickets with $35 SpinCity 50 Ride & Game Tickets vouchers, available now through July 29. This limited time offer is not available during the State Fair!

All rides and games in SpinCity utilize a digital ticket system that require 2-7 tickets each.

During the State Fair, ticket packages with 60-Ticket sheets for $50, 40-Ticket sheets for $35, and individual tickets for $1 each at any SpinCity Ticket Booth.

NEW THIS YEAR: SENSORY-FRIENDLY SPINCITY MORNING

Wisconsin State Fair invites Fairgoers who may have special sensory needs to come play games and experience thrills from 11am-1pm on Monday, August 8 when lights, sounds, and non-safety related announcements will be reduced in SpinCity. **Some attractions are unable to be fully silenced and operational noises will be noticeable during this time.

The Bargain Book

Crazy Grazin’ Day

Tuesday, August 9 is truly a great day for families with kids to come to the fair! Not only is it Bucks Kids Day and KIDZ BOP — it’s also Crazy Grazin’ Day. That’s right — all three on the SAME day! On Crazy Grazin’ Day you can get smaller sizes of fair food (or sample sizes) at reduced prices, so that you can try a variety of food. It’s a win for everyone!

Pick up a Crazy Grazin’ brochure at any Fair Information Center and look for posters displayed at participating vendor locations.
