Milwaukee families, rejoice! Just in time for a slightly unusual, socially distant summer, the beloved vintage movie going experience has arrived right in our backyard – the drive in movie theater!

The new Milky Way Drive-In Opens Memorial Day Weekend in Franklin!

The season kicks off on May 22nd for Memorial Day Weekend and will continue through Labor Day. Families will love that each day will show a family-friendly movie, starting with Pixar’s “Onward,” followed by an evening showing of a movie for the grown-ups!

Upcoming movies include: Dolittle, Jumanji: The Next Level, Frozen II, The Gentleman, 1917, Knives Out, Toy Story 4, and Goonies

Tickets are $35 per car, limited by the number of seat belts. The drive-in theater is located at the Ballpark Commons in Franklin.

The Milky Way Drive-In COVID Plan:

Obviously, everyone should take precautions to keep themselves safe as they venture out into the world and the drive in theater is no exception. Make sure you review the COVID Plan for the Milky Way Drive-In before you go. Highlights include:

  • Maximum capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic will only be 175 vehicles.
  • You must stay within the confines of your vehicle as much as possible.
  • If you are outside your vehicle (as in, to visit the restroom), you are suggested to be wearing a facemask.
  • Restrooms and concession stand will be open. There will be plenty of hand soap and sanitizer on hand. Restrooms will be equipped with signage and markers to help with the 6’ of social distancing.
  • Eventually, the drive in plans to be a “Pet Friendly Business”, when it is safe to do so; however, due to the “Stay-In-Your-Vehicle” rule, pets will not yet be allowed since they cannot be walked outside when needed.
