YOUR YEAR OF DISCOVERY: EXPLORE ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES WITH GIRL SCOUTS OF WISCONSIN SOUTHEAST

As a Girl Scout, your daughter will discover hidden talents, make new friends, take fun trips, and most importantly, find the space to be unapologetically herself.

What Makes Girl Scouts Special?

Girl Scouts has been the leader in youth leadership and development for over a century, offering opportunities to build confidence, explore new interests, and strengthen leadership skills.

With research-backed, age-appropriate programming focused on outdoors, life skills, entrepreneurship, and STEM, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) offers a fun, supportive environment where your child can learn new skills, make friends, and take on challenges with courage.

Studies show that being a Girl Scout improves confidence and makes Girl Scouts better prepared to weather life’s challenges. 88% of Girl Scouts expect to graduate from high school, and 87% of Girl Scout alum say that they have been successful in achieving their goals in life!

It’s Your Year, Girl Scout: What to Expect

  1. Friendship: Troops bring together Girl Scouts from all backgrounds in a supportive, diverse, and non-competitive environment guided by values like respect and kindness. Four in five Girl Scouts say they have a best friend in their troop!
  2. Adventure: For both new and experienced adventure-seekers, Girl Scouts offers countless opportunities to explore the outdoors. Whether it’s outdoor troop trips or overnight summer camp, Girl Scouts develop a love and respect for nature while gaining the confidence to try new things and build grit.
  3. Giving Back: Girl Scouts make the world a better place. Girl Scouts participate in Take Action and Highest Awards projects that connect them to their community and create an early sense of social responsibility. From supporting local animal shelters to cleaning up parks to making supplies for local organizations, Girl Scouts build their communication and planning skills, as well as their compassion for the community.
  4. Leadership: All Girl Scout activities are girl-led, so Girl Scouts learn about teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving in a hands-on way. Plus, when Girl Scouts participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, they learn about business leadership, marketing, and goal-setting.
  5. New Skills: Whether it’s coding, public speaking, or wilderness skills, Girl Scouts empowers girls to understand a wide variety of practical skills. Through badge activities, troop projects, and council events, Girl Scouts are constantly learning something new in a safe and encouraging environment, helping them build competence, independence, and confidence.
  6. Fun: Girl Scouts is all about fun! Events and troop meetings are filled with laughter, dance parties, and adventure.

The Family Experience

Girl Scouting is the most fun and rewarding (for everyone!) when the whole family gets involved. Parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved as volunteers, helping to guide and mentor girls throughout their Girl Scout journey. From leading troops to assisting with badge activities or the Cookie Program, there are so many ways for families to support their Girl Scout and local community.
