Outdoor Ice Skating in Milwaukee

outdoor ice skating rinks

Get the gang together, put on a cute hat and your warmest mittens, lace up those skates, and hit the ice! There’s something about skating in the snow that’s just a little bit magical. We’ve got several places around the Milwaukee area for you to enjoy skating outside as winter arrives in full force. Remember, be safe out there and make sure an ice rink has been officially opened by the park before skating. Typically there needs to be at least 6″ of frost in the ground before rinks can be made safely. We’ll see you at the rink!

COVID-19 DISCLAIMER: With the rapidly changing public health situation, be sure to check in advance regarding availability, social distancing, mask mandates, protocols, etc. Many usual ice skating locations may be temporarily closed.

  1. I went to see the ice rinks you mentioned in article. Here is what I found:
No ice rink at Lake Park
No ice rink at Hart Park
No ice rink at Klode Park
No ice rink at Waterstone Bank/Clarke Street Park
Red Arrow Ice rink has not open time slots for weeks.
So all in all, no ability to ice skate in the above parks
Maybe you should have researched the locations before you published the article

    • Hi there! Lots has changed since the original list was published earlier in the season, so definitely check the linked websites before heading out. We’ve recently updated this post with some COVID-19 closures and guidelines.
