HOLY HILL CATHEDRAL
40 minutes from Milwaukee – Holy Hill Cathedral is probably one of the most popular destinations for a family in southeast Wisconsin during the fall. Because of its popularity, expect to battle crowds on the days when the weather is extra nice. On top of the hill, walk up the 178 stairs of the Basilica’s Tower to get a stunning view of the surrounding Kettle Moraine area. When the fall colors are at their peak, this is considered to be one of the most beautiful autumn views in the state. Afterward, enjoy the gift shop or walk the grounds and through the leaves. DEVIL’S LAKE STATE PARK
2 hours from Milwaukee – Devil’s Lake offers plenty to see during fall. Walk on any numerous hiking trails for a fantastic view at the bluff overlooking the lake or walk next to the lake and enjoy the scenery surrounding it. CAVE OF THE MOUNDS
90 minutes from Milwaukee – This natural limestone cave is a geological wonder. The cave’s natural beauty comes from a variety of mineral formations called speleothems and it can even be enjoyed year-round.
