The weather determines the dates of when the tulips bloom, but we expect they will be in full bloom or nearly full bloom sometime during mid-April through mid-May…2-3 weeks of bloom time. Check our Facebook page regularly for up-to-date information. The tulips are planted near our own, private 36 acre lake for an absolutely beautiful setting. The gift shop on the adjacent Adventure Farm grounds will be open for gifts, wine tasting, our own fresh donuts, popcorn, kettle corn, and indoor restrooms. It’s about a ½ mile walk, or you may drive, from the tulip fields parking area.

Wheelchair accessibility: The tulips have been planted in a hay field, so the ground is a farm field with some lumps and bumps. The walkways are mostly a grass/weed mixture, but still with lumps and bumps. If it has recently rained, the ground turns a little mushy. The parking area is rough grass. From the tulip fields, the ground slopes down to the festival area with the food trucks, picnic tables, weekend music, etc. The slopes are within ADA guidelines. Because the ground is rough, some people may need assistance getting their wheelchair back up the hill. We have made every effort to make these lumpy fields as wheelchair friendly as possible, but you must decide on the capabilities of yourself or the person you are attending.

You are welcome to bring your dog if it is on a leash and plays well with others.

Midwest Tulip Festival

(Around 1 hr 45 min from Milwaukee)

Opens April 27, 2024
1N290 Watson Road, Maple Park, IL
Midwest Tulip Festival | Kuipers Family Farm

From their website:

Over the past few years, we have planted nearly 500,000 tulip bulbs across 7 acres of our farm. These beautiful flowers stay dormant all winter and pop up in the spring to bring a vibrant mixture of colors to our farm. Mother nature tells the flowers when to bloom, so keep an eye on our bloom-o-meter to find the perfect time to visit.

The flower fields are fully accessible for strolling and taking those perfect pictures. We know you can’t resist bringing some of that beauty home, so we have specific fields set aside for you to cut and purchase your own tulips.

Not only is the tulip field ready for your visit, but this is also a great time to enjoy the warm weather and outdoor activities! Admission to the Midwest Tulip Fest also includes access to some of our featured attractions on the FunFarm, so be sure to plan for a whole day of fun! On the weekends come enjoy some live music, and grab a bite from one of our food options

We celebrate our Dutch heritage by bringing the Midwest Tulip Fest to Illinois and we can’t wait to share this breath-taking view with you!
