Dozens of big rigs from the Department of Public Works, Milwaukee Police Department and Milwaukee Fire Department will be on site at Red Arrow Park for kids to check out
(Milwaukee, WI): If you have truck-loving kids, you will not want to miss this event! It’s time to round up the kids for a free family fun day.
MAY 18 FROM 11AM-2PM AT RED ARROW PARK
For the third year in a row, Milwaukee Downtown BID #21 is partnering with the City of Milwaukee to host Big Truck Day on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Red Arrow Park. The free event provides kids and families with the opportunity to explore dozens of big rigs from the Department of Public Works, Milwaukee Fire Department and Milwaukee Police Department.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES
At the event, kids will have the opportunity to not only check out the trucks and equipment but also meet some of the people who operate the machinery. Family-friendly activities will also be in tow, including arts and crafts with Artists Working in Education (A.W.E.), Milwaukee Public Library’s Bookmobile, free face painting, bubble playtime and a book sale with Friends of the Milwaukee Public Library.
HERO PUP
New this year, kids will get the chance to meet and take photos with a beloved “Hero Pup.” There will also be numerous giveaways during the event, including 250 construction hats, 250 pairs of sunglasses, and 250 mini foam construction cones.
PARKING $3
In addition to the sights and giveaways, a food truck park offering a variety of meals and snacks for families will also be on site. Plus, parking during the event will be just $3 at the 1000 N Water Street parking structure.
SENSORY-FRIENDLY HOUR
To provide a quality experience for all guests, a sensory-friendly hour will be offered from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at which time no horns or sirens will take place. For more information on Big Truck Day, visit MilwaukeeDowntown.com.
