25+ Milwaukee Area Coffee Shops

Alderaan Coffee {Milwaukee} :: In addition to offering the coffees they source from local roasters around the country, they have yummy syrups that are all made in-house.

Anodyne Coffee Roastery {Walker’s Point + Wauwatosa} :: Yes, there are many places where you can get Anodyne Coffee, but this location stands out above the rest for our team, and for good reason! The space is gorgeous, and they have live music regularly, including Fox & Branch for the kiddos. Plus, our kiddos love their vanilla steamers (whole milk with vanilla in it).

Better Together Cafe {South Milwaukee}:: Brand new in 2021, this new cafe is run by a husband and wife team who started off with an adorable espresso and milkshake mobile coffee bar/truck and grew it to a new cafe location!

Brewed Cafe {Milwaukee} :: Nestled inside a building on Brady Street that inside, is reminiscent of coffeehouses of the 90’s, Brewed Cafe pours Anodyne coffee alongside house-made, vegetarian-friendly food options and baked goods. The eclectic environment just invites you to curl up in a chair with a cuppa and a good book.

Cafe Blue {Wauwatosa} :: Located in East Tosa, Cafe Blue is a locally owned, eclectic coffee + tea shop that offers pastries and sandwiches. If you need a good jolt of caffeine, try The Live Wire and Thunderkiss – both drinks are made with 5 shots of espresso.

Cafe de Arts {Waukesha} :: An in-house roastery with personality to spare! The owners are lovely people who are so passionate for their customers and their work. Definitely try one of the hot panini sandwiches with your coffee and book one of the party rooms for an upcoming event. They also have a shop with build-your-own gift boxes.

Coffee Makes You Black {Milwaukee} :: Set in an old, repurposed bank building, Coffee Makes You Black offers meeting space with loads of natural light and a yummy menu to fill your tummy.

Coffeeville Co. {Jackson} :: A new cafe in a historic log cabin featuring a roasting viewing room. Coffeeville roasts its own beans, giving the coffee a fresh taste. Cozy, decor makes the cafe feel homey and warm, and coffee machinery throughout the space provides a story of the history of coffee. Delish coffee drinks, pastries, and sandwiches. Super convenient drive-thru or online ordering, if you’re in a hurry.

Colectivo Coffee {Various Locations} :: No Milwaukee coffee shop list would be complete without Colectivo Coffee. You’re never too far away from your nearest cafe and you can fine their signature coffees being served in retail shops all over the city. And of course, we already know their Baked Oatmeal is famous. Looking to make a copycat version at home? We have the recipe!

Canela Cafe {Milwaukee} :: This new restaurant opened this summer at the site of the former Original Pancake House on Downer Ave and while it’s definitely more of a brunch place than a coffee shop, we can’t get mad at a place with such a fun breakfast vibe.

The Daily Bird {Milwaukee} :: Located inside the historic Dubbel Dutch, The Daily Bird now allows you to wander down from your accommodations for a fancy iced latte. A fantastic perk for guests or passers-by!

Dryhootch Coffeehouse {Milwaukee} :: Created from a national non-profit organization that strives to create a healthy and substance-free environment for recovering veterans, the coffee shop on Brady Street brings a sense of community. Of course the coffee is good, but it’s the environment that promotes friendship, arts, and music that sets Dryhootch Coffeehouse apart.

Fiddleheads {Cedarburg + Menomonee Falls} :: Right in the heart of historic Cedarburg, this place just oozes charm. You can even rent out the upper level for meetings.

Fuel Cafe {Milwaukee} :: With two locations to choose from, Fuel Cafe has created a hip and fun destination for a coffee date or lunch meeting in Walkers Point and on Center Street. There are weekly specials, space for special events, and the Walker’s Point location even offers brunch! A great option for vegetarians and vegans as well. Lots of local crafts brews are available (Walkers Point) and the industrial-style interior is tons of fun.

Goddess and the Baker {Brookfield} :: A Chicago-transplant now available at The Corners of Brookfield, Goddess and the Baker is famous for their creative, fancy drinks like the Glitter Latte as well as gorgeous bakery like their Rainbow Cake. The interior is fun and hip and the menu isn’t just pretty to look at; it tastes incredible too. Their monthly drink specials are always incredible. Don’t sleep on the salads, be sure to try the fresh juices, and make sure to sample the soup of the day. Note: Goddess & the Baker is CASHLESS.

Hawthorne Coffee Roasters {Milwaukee} :: Known for their killer pour-overs, Hawthorne Coffee is a craft roaster. They are also frequently seen paired with a donut or in the hand of a Farmer’s Market shopper.

Interval {Milwaukee} :: Serving up the freshest, locally sourced ingredients on both the menu and in the Corner Store. Interval coffee comes from the owner and local coffee roaster, Ryan Hoban, featuring a menu of ever-changing coffees and specialty drinks.

La Finca Coffee House {St. Francis} :: La Finca Coffeehouse focuses on direct trade, sourcing coffee beans from a family coffee farm in Oaxaca, México. Locally owned by two LatinX sisters, La Finca has grown a large fan base, especially the Cafe Horchata.

Mama D’s {Wales,Waukesha} :: You might often see a Mama D’s sticker on the back of a vehicle with a bike rack and for good reason. This spot in Wales has a strong following, especially in the cycling community, and they have expanded to TWO additional locations. It has a kitchy, cozy vibe with amazing drinks and delicious food. Need something to go? Try their location in Waukesha for a more grab and go style experience. Mama D’s is an across-the-board winner.

Mountain Top Coffee {Waukesha} :: Located right in the heart of downtown Waukesha, Mountain Top Coffee has a large amount of seating, friendly staff, and a great area to land right in the front window so you can people-watch while you sip your latte. The food menu is killer, especially the breakfast sammies, and the campsite-style mugs are a great touch. Grab a book and read by the fireplace!

Pilcrow Coffee {Milwaukee} :: Known for their velvety-smooth, life-altering (no, really) nitro cold brew, regular and sweet cream. You can usually find one of their nitro bikes in downtown Milwaukee or you can find them at a farmer’s market.

Rise and Grind Cafe {Sherman Park} :: One of the tenants of the Sherman Phoenix, the Rise and Grind Cafe features numerous coffee drinks, teas, smoothies and fresh juices, as well as a delicious food menu.

Rochambo Coffee & Teahouse {Milwaukee} :: Located in an old victorian home, Rochambo has been a Brady street staple for over 20 years since before hipsters were a thing. They hand-craft all of their artisan simple syrups and bonus: you can get a delicious Irish Coffee if you need a kick in your step.

Sherman Perk {Sherman Park} :: Easily one of the more unique, fun coffee shops in the Milwaukee area that is a must-try! It’s an old repurposed gas station and it’s super funky inside. The coffee is great and it’s got an awesome neighborhood vibe going on with a super-friendly staff and a community ambiance.

Stone Creek Coffee {Various Locations} :: Stone Creek cafes are all over the greater Milwaukee area, but a favorite of our team is the location in the Radio Milwaukee headquarters. Looking for a more quiet space to really dial in and get some work done without distraction? Head to the Shorewood location on Oakland. It’s small enough that there’s very little talking!

The Steaming Cup {Waukesha} :: The Steaming Cup is a real gem -this place isn’t just about the coffee (which is awesome) or the famous Lavender Chai (which is super delicious), but the FOOD. Milwaukee chef Jason Tofte doesn’t mess around with food, so you know if he’s behind a coffee shop, the menu is going to be fabulous. Live music on the weekends too!

Urban Joe Cafe {West Milwaukee} :: Known for their organic, fair trade and sustainably harvested coffees and ingredients, Urban Joe is a great neighborhood coffee house.

Valentine Coffee Co. {Wauwatosa} :: This place is worth the wait. The must-try here is the Vanilla Bean Latte and the tasting room here is gorgeous. Valentine is another spot with a variety of coffee varieties that are perfect for pour-overs, so definitely splurge for it here and watch the expert baristas do their thing.
Vendetta Coffee Bar {Wauwatosa} :: Get all those European vibes with traditional espresso drinks and outdoor seating at this new coffee spot in Wauwatosa. Located on W State Street, you will not only find cappuccinos made in the Italian tradition, but also pastries!
Vennture Brew Co. {Milwaukee/Tosa} :: Vennture’s slogan is “Coffee + Beer + Community”, and they live up to just that. Their in-house brews are top-notch, and their community space is gorgeous. Start with a cup of coffee and a muffin and transition to one of the house brews when the time feels right. The staff is phenomenal and the sleek, modern interior creates such a cool vibe.
2984 On Main {East Troy} :: If you are looking for a hidden gem that’s a bit off the beaten path a bit, go find the 2984 On Main in the Square Roots building and you’ve got it! It’s about 10 minutes from Elegant Farmer, a Milwaukee Fall Favorite. Amazing drinks and bakery, a kitchen with daily specials, and coolers and freezers for locally grown organic produce, meats, eggs, milk, etc. They also have a gift section with handmade soaps, cleaning products, etc. There are board games, books, magazines, etc to enjoy while you’re there.
Coffee not your bag? (say it isn’t so?!) That’s ok – we’ve got you covered with some non-coffee options, mama.

  1. Where is the Spider-Man display, at which coffee shop? It was confusing because the photo was above one shop and below the other but there was not a caption or anything that attributed the location of where the photo was taken.
