A Brand-New Holiday Musical Premiere
First Stage is bringing families a world premiere filled with laughter, music, and Mo Willems’ beloved characters. The Pigeon Gets a Big Time Holiday Extravaganza! invites audiences to join The Pigeon, Elephant & Piggie, and the Unlimited Squirrels for a joyful holiday celebration unlike any other.
Catchy tunes, silly stories, and audience antics come together in this all-new musical adventure, created by Mo Willems and Adam Tobin with music by Deborah Wicks La Puma. Directed by Michelle LoRicco, the production promises to deliver holiday cheer and plenty of surprises — especially from The Pigeon, who might just be on a quest to find the greatest gift ever.

About the Production
First Stage is one of only seven theaters premiering this new holiday musical, developed in collaboration with several leading children’s theaters nationwide. Last season, First Stage hosted a reading and workshop of the developing script, with Mo Willems himself joining virtually to answer questions from young audience members. That feedback helped shape the final production now coming to Milwaukee.
Meet the Cast
Returning favorites James Carrington and Rachael Zientek reprise their roles as Elephant and Piggie, joined by Kailey Azure Green as The Pigeon. The show also features two rotating casts of talented young performers — the Hotdog Cast and the Cookie Cast — who bring the Unlimited Squirrels to life on stage.
