PUBLIC POOLS TO COOL OFF IN THIS SUMMER IN & AROUND MILWAUKEE (2026)

As every mom knows, taking kids to the pool can be an adventure in patience, vigilance and fortitude. It helps a lot if you find a pool the kids love where you also feel comfortable! But, where do you start to find the right pool for your family? You’re in luck, because we rounded up a guide to the pools in the Milwaukee area!

*Be sure to check the pool’s website before heading out – as hours can sometimes fluctuate depending on lifeguard availability and weather conditions. 


Buchner Pool (223 Oakland Avenue, Waukesha)

Pool Season Dates: Saturday, June 6, 2026 – Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Features:

Open Swim Area (50 Meters):
Enjoy lap swimming, volleyball, basketball, fitness bikes & aqua jog belts use (first come, first serve basis), 1-meter diving board, lounge in the water under shade structures or just enjoy the open water.

Children’s Pool:
Family fun includes zero-depth entry, a spray feature & a small slide.

Channel:
Gently ride along on a single or double inner tube during open channel time (on a first-come, first-served basis) or workout against the current during open adult fitness times (16+).

Plunge Pool & Slides:
These are available with the Ultimate Pass or daily slide fee. Must be at least 48″ tall.


Horeb Springs Aquatic Center (330 Spring Street, Waukesha)

Pool Season Dates: Saturday, June 6-7 & Thursday, June 11, to Tuesday, August 18, 2026

Features:

Open Swim Area:
1-meter & 3-meter diving boards, lounge in the water under shade structures or just enjoy the open water.

Children’s Pool
Family fun includes zero-depth entry, a spray feature & a small slide.

Plunge Pool & Slides:
Two (2) 350′ slides available with the Ultimate Pass or Slide Fee. Must be at least 48″ tall.


Cool Waters in Greenfield Park (2028 S. 124th St., West Allis)

Stay cool at the waterpark with the tallest waterslides in Milwaukee County! Enjoy the heated pool, children’s waterslides, interactive water toys, sand volleyball courts, a children’s playground, Cool’s Cafe, and more.

Open: Open June 13 – September 7


Pelican Cove in Kosciuszko Park (2201 S. 7th St., Milwaukee)

The zero-depth, heated pool has giant tube and body waterslides, children’s waterslides, interactive water toys, sand volleyball courts, a children’s playground, Cool’s Cafe and more.

Open: Open June 20 – August 16th


Pirates Hollow Waterpark (201 N. Webster St. Port Washington)

Pirates’ Hollow Waterpark Season: June 12th – August 23rd

North of downtown? No problem! This family-friendly park in Port Washington offers a pool, slide, and splash geysers.


TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park (1800 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa)

Open: Friday, May 22nd for Season Pass Holder Sneak Peek Public Open Swim Starts: Saturday, May 23rd.

Even my two year old can take on the slides at this wonderful family park. Slides and different depths for big and little kids make this a fun family pool. Milwaukee Family tip: make a day out of it and enjoy a picnic lunch at THE LANDING for even more fun!


David F. Schulz Aquatic Center in Lincoln Park (1301 W. Hampton Ave., Milwaukee)

Waterslides, Lazy River, spray jets and so much more! Check website for swimming hours.

Open: June 20rd – August 23rd


Wiberg Aquatic Center at Wirth Park (2585 North Pilgrim Road, Brookfield)

First day of season – Saturday June 6th-Last day of season -Sunday, August 24rd

Wiberg Aquatic Center features all kinds of water fun – flume slide, drop slide, zero depth pool, geysers, playground and even a sand play area!


Sheridan Park Pool (4800 S. Lake Drive, Cudahy)

Sheridan Park Pool features a large swimming pool, flume slides, a water mushroom, a shallow (wading) pool and adjacent play area.

Open: June 20th – August 16th


Wilson Rec Pool (4001 S. 20th St., Milwaukee)

Located at Wilson Recreation Center, this heated 50-meter Olympic-sized pool has a ramp entry. The pool also offers 1- and 3-meter diving boards.

Open: June 20th – August 22nd
